Reporting a problem? Include your phone model, your Android version, and the version of Kalo from Settings → About. It saves a round trip and usually tells us where to look.
Check that the whole barcode is inside the frame, including the pale margin on either side of it — scanners need that gap. Wipe the lens, avoid glare, and flatten any crumpled packaging. Kalo also ignores codes that are not real product barcodes, so a batch number or a printed code with letters in it is refused on purpose rather than logged as a food.
The barcode is fine; nobody has recorded that product yet. Coverage for Indian products is still thin, especially for local and regional brands. Tap to add it and the numbers off the label will be there for you next time — and for the next person who scans it.
Data marked "Community entry — not yet verified" was typed by another user, and data from Open Food Facts is only as good as whoever entered it there. Edit the food to correct it for yourself, and write to us if a shared entry is badly wrong so it can be fixed for everyone.
No. Kalo works fully signed out; your diary lives on the phone. An account exists so your data survives losing the phone and follows you to a new one.
When you sign in on a second device, the account's history replaces what was on that device, because the account is the one both devices share. Signing in on your first device uploads what is already there. Nothing is deleted from the phone during either.
Settings → Delete Account. This erases everything from the phone and from our servers, and closes the account. It cannot be undone and signing in again will not restore it. To keep a copy first, use Settings → Export Data.
Check notifications are allowed for Kalo in Android settings. Many phones — Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus especially — also kill background apps aggressively; find Kalo in your battery settings and set it to unrestricted. Reminders are deliberately inexact and can arrive a few minutes late, because Android reserves to-the-second alarms for actual alarm clocks.
Kalo reads the phone's own step counter and needs the physical activity permission. Without it you will see a Demo mode label and an example figure rather than a fabricated one. Steps also only count while you are carrying the phone.
Subscriptions are handled by Google Play, not by us: open the Play Store → your profile picture → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep Pro until the period you paid for ends.
Open the app while online and give it a moment; entitlement is confirmed with Google rather than taken on trust. If it has not appeared after a few minutes, write to us with the Google Play order number from your receipt email.
Refunds go through Google Play under their policy. We cannot process one directly, but tell us what went wrong and we will help where we can.
