Kalo
Coming to Google Play

Eat well without doing the arithmetic

Kalo counts the calories, macros, water, weight and steps so you can get on with your day. Scan a packet and the numbers fill themselves in.

What it does

Built around logging being quick

The tracker people stop using is the one that takes too long. Everything here exists to shorten the gap between eating and having it counted.

Scan the packet

Point the camera at a barcode. Kalo fills in the calories and macros so you do not type them.

Macros that add up

Protein, carbs, fat, fibre and sodium against targets worked out from your own figures.

Water in one tap

A glass is a single tap from the dashboard. No form, no dialog.

Steps from the phone

Read from the phone's own sensor. No permission, and Kalo says so instead of inventing a number.

Reminders that arrive

Scheduled through Android, so they appear while the phone is locked and survive a restart.

Works without signal

Logging never waits for a network. Your diary syncs to your account when there is one.

Getting started

Three steps to your first logged meal

Answer seven questions

Height, weight, age, activity and your goal. Kalo works out your calorie and macro targets from them.

Scan or search

Point the camera at a barcode, or search the catalogue. Nothing found? Add it once from the label.

Watch the day fill

The ring, the macro bars and the streak all recompute as you log, so deleting one meal corrects everything at once.

Where the food data comes from

Four sources, checked in order

No single database covers Indian shelves, so Kalo uses four and each fills the gaps in the last.

Built in91 common foods, shipped inside the appOffline

Shared catalogueProducts other people have scanned or addedCached
Open Food FactsAbout 23,000 products sold in India, plus more worldwideOnce per product

A product Kalo has never seen is fetched once and then kept, so the catalogue grows as people use it. Entries other users contributed stay labelled unverified until someone checks them. Data marked Source: Open Food Facts comes from openfoodfacts.org under the Open Database Licence.

Questions

Before you download

Is Kalo free?

Yes. Logging, barcode scanning, macros, water, weight, steps and reminders are free and stay free. Kalo Pro adds Photo AI, longer history and detailed reports.

Do I need an account?

No. Kalo works signed out and keeps your diary on the phone. An account exists so your data survives losing the phone and follows you to a new one.

What if a product will not scan?

Coverage for Indian products is still thin, especially for local brands. Add it once from the label and it is there for you next time, and for the next person who scans it.

Can I delete everything?

Settings → Delete Account erases every meal, weigh-in and setting from the phone and from your account. Signing in again will not bring it back.

How do I cancel Kalo Pro?

In the Play Store, under Payments and subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep Pro until the period you paid for ends.
